Quick and Small Woodworking Projects

Make a Drink Carrier

Every friend and family member getting married is gifted something wooden from us. In this instance my sister-in-law and soon to be brother-in-law were gifted a custom live edge drink carrier with copper pipe and rope handles along with a woodburning to symbolize their committment to one another. Its a truly simple project that involves a Dado blade, router, or lots of passes on a cross cut blade.  I created this with the use of woodglue and rabbet joinery

Hiding Drywall imperfections or ugly wall treatments

When we bought our current house someone thought it would be a good idea to paint but then throw glitter on it. Having worked in Air Quality I know the hazards of particulate matter so decided to just hide it behind some engineered wood flooring we got on the cheap from our local building material wholesaler Akron Materials. Throw on some white wash , use your brad nailer,  and buy outlet extenders to meet electrical code and you have a beautiful statement wall done in less than half a day

Designing with Cutoffs

I recently went to an estate sale and they had a box of hardwood scrap cutoffs. There was no price so I asked and received a beautiful assortment or mahogany, maple, and walnut for $5.

For my in-laws anniversary I decided to use some woodglue on these various sized pieces to make a backboard for a sign. Per all of my designs, I used copper to create the writing overlay. This took <2 hours to do all of the steps and 1 night to let the wood glue dry
